Hello

We share a relation in Grace Smale (nee Martin).
She is my great, great grandmother.
Her daughter - Emily - married my great grandfather, Peter Ingram in 1913 and my grandfather William was born the following year.
Emily died in 1948.

I am travelling up to Black Torrington for the day tomorrow: Sat 20/9/14 to see the village that the Horns sprung from.
Researching my family has become addictive.

Good to make contact with you. What a great site!

Bye for now

Hello. What an interesting website. My interest is in the Hibbett/Hibbitt name. My husband is descended from Henry Hibbett of Empingham, who moved from Rutland to York. His father was William, born in 1792. This has caused us some problems as there were two Williams born that year. One,who's parents were William and Elizabeth (William senior being a son of Matthew and Frances H). The other one being the son of Luke and Mary H - Luke being son of William H and Elizabeth Skillett.
So we have a conundrum. However either way, they are all related, and all descend initially form John Ibbott and Ann Tubbs. So my husband is a distant relative of yours.
Congratulations on a very interesting website.

I found your web site while looking for Jehoiada Dando. I think Jehoiada maybe my children's 4th great grandfather. Maurice Dando born 1848 emigrated to New Zealand in 1880. Maurice's father was Edward born 1812. Edward's father was Jehoiada and his mother was Lydia Bridgeman. I know from trying to read Jehoiada's will that he had a brother Joseph. I have not proved these details but I am wondering if any of this is familiar to you. Thank you for an excellent web site. Elaine

Admin reply: Hello Elaine. There is a definite connection to my family. I've sent you an email.

What a wonderful site you have! Thank you for all the information you have dug up on the Dando family. I'm related to Joseph Dando and Ann Murch. Their daughter,Louisa, married Charles James Metcalfe ( my great great grandparents) I have a lot of Metcalfe history after a visit to Bedfordshire last year, but knew little about the Dandos. Next time I'm in the UK I shall have to visit Bristol and Dursley. Best wishes, Ruth

Hi - found your website today whilst working on the Fryer's. Very interesting and very thorough research. I am writing because Mary Fryer (1723 - 1786) was my 5th great grandmother, her son Thomas (1772) had a daughter Elizabeth (1791 - Newnham). She married Thomas Ayland (1792 - Arlingham). Thomas Ayland's father was Isaac Ayland (1757 - Arlingham) who was my 4th great grandfather.
Hope this may be of interest to you ?
Gill

Hi... nice website. I have Geakes from Tavistock in my line although the dates are consistently a few years later. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if we're distant cousins somewhere down the line.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and that I enjoyed looking through your website...

I have the parents of Hannah Poulston on my tree - Nathaniel Poulston (1773-1850) and Sarah Barton (1775-1811). They had a daughter Hannah in 1803, who is likely to be the one in your tree, though I cannot be sure without the marriage details, which may show her parents.

Hi Annie. I was so excited to hear this morning from my brother about your website. I am really interested in the Hibbitt side of your tree. I never knew my grandfather, great grandfather and grat great grandfather were all called Alfred. Same as my dad. Keep up the good work. Lynda
