Antique Embroidery by Ann Murch

This beautiful, antique, embroidered map of England and Wales was worked by Ann Murch (who later married Joseph Dando, the elder, in Bristol). Ann was approximately 12 years old or perhaps a young teenager when she sewed her name and the date of 1794 in the embroidery, which has been handed down through several generations and is in the possession of a distant cousin. The embroidery has apparently travelled from England to Africa, back to England, to Jersey and now resides in Canada.
