Hi Annie. I was so excited to hear this morning from my brother about your website. I am really interested in the Hibbitt side of your tree. I never knew my grandfather, great grandfather and grat great grandfather were all called Alfred. Same as my dad. Keep up the good work. Lynda

My family were in Exton, Rutland during the 1700 & 1800's. The male line seemed to take the christian name of John or John William or John William Herbert. Any connection?

An excellent site and beautifully done. The memorials to the Aaron Taysom's I have not seen before.

My branch of the Taysom's possibly is from John Taysom(married to Anne Shelter in 1706 in Arlingham). I believe they then moved to Herefordshire, Staunton on Arrow(I have a full family tree from that date). John's father I believe was also John married to Izabell Dobs in Arlingham in 1689. John and Izabell also had at least two other children Ann b1690 and Alexander b 1688 in Arlingham-possibly Thomas see below.

Aaron (born c1729) (Slimbridge) married to Anne Holder in 1745 in St Michaels, Gloucester I believe are the parents of Aaron (1745-1807).

I have reference to Aaron's(b c1729) father. Aaron (number 3!-number 4 if you include Aaron born to Aaron and Chrity in 1815) married in Slimbridge in 1729. Also reference at that time to Thomas a relative. I am not sure if Thomas is Aaron's father?

Finally was Thomas a brother of my direct ancestor John? Son of John and Izabell Dobs?

I also have reference to Mary Taysom married to Richard Fryer on 13.4.1696 in Arlingham. Her grave stone is in one of your photographs.-sister to John (married to Izabell?).

If anyone can help please get in touch?
Kind regards
Chris Taysom

Yes, this is certainly a beautiful and well-put together website. I love the pictures. My grandfather emigrated from the UK (Gloucester and Hardwicke) to the U.S. in 1901 and my grandmother in 1904. Nice to meet you!

What a great and very helpfull site you have developed . Congratulations .
My mother was a Pitcher from Gisborne in New Zealand. I found the Anne pitcher ( Powell)information on the family tree interesting .
If any one has any information to pass on it would be fantastic .
I seem to be drawing blanks with Laura Helen Pitcher.

Lyn

What a beautiful website & so well put together! My Barrett family originated from Exton Rutland & some of my ancestors married Hibbitts (of/in Exton) i'm not sure at this point if they are any of the Hibbitts in your family history. The photographs you have of Exton are beautiful.

Vanessa :)

Admin reply: Thank you Vanessa for your remarks. I can't take credit for the Exton photos - a distant cousin and family history researcher sent them to me. It looks like a lovely place to visit. Have you seen my Hibbitt transcripts of some of the Exton parish registers under the Resources > Transripts section? There may be something there to help you.

You have a wonderful family site. At one time I thought that I was related to the Dando line of Spiers. I am not, but I have a very large tree for the silk manufacturer Joseph Spiers line from Coventry to Spitalfields.

Admin reply: Hi Ron. Thank you for your comments. I think we may have corresponded a while ago and you kindly forwarded one or two wills to me. I am also in touch with a couple of other Spiers' descendants - they were an interesting family indeed! It seems Joseph Spiers' grandson became an associate of the Institute of Civil Engineers and was proposed by his employer George Robert Stephenson, who was the nephew of the famous George and cousin of George's son Robert.

I am researching my family & found your website i don't no if your related to my side of the family or not. Grandad from Ferrybridge. :)

Admin reply: Hi Mandy,

Thanks for dropping by. I'm not aware of any of my relatives coming from Ferrybridge but it is always possible that distant cousins moved there. I trace my Hibbitt line back to Exton in Rutland, as do many others. :!sun:

At a late stage in my life I have started to spend a bit more time looking into my family surname. My "tribe" seems to come from Rutland, in particular the Exton area near to Oakham.
Your website has made some interesting reading which could well prompt a little more effort on my part to dig deeper. Thank you.
