There is a discrepancy relating to the year of James' death and burial. Both the Historical Monumental & Genealogical Collections by Ralph Bigland and St Mary's Lydney Memorial Inscriptions by the Gloucester Family History Society state he died on 14th May 1746 whereas the transcribed Lydney Parish Records say he was buried on 15th May 1747.

William is buried in the same grave as his half-brother, Stephen Gwin.
